The Metro New York Society of Association Executives (Metro NYSAE) is pleased to share that, effective Feb. 1, 2026, the organization will officially transition its association management services from Kellen to NorthStar Association Management, a new boutique association management company designed specifically to serve small to mid-sized organizations.
Metro NYSAE has been managed by Kellen, a global association management company, since 2019. During that time, the Society strengthened its programming, expanded member engagement, and navigated significant industry change. NorthStar Association Management — a strategic spinoff of Kellen — represents the next step in Metro NYSAE’s evolution.
Holly Munter Koenig has accepted the position of President of NorthStar Association Management and will continue in her long-standing role as Metro NYSAE’s CEO & Executive Director.
“NorthStar was created because we saw a growing need among smaller associations for a management partner that feels personal, nimble, and deeply hands-on,” said Koenig. “Kellen excels with larger, more complex organizations. NorthStar is intentionally built for associations like Metro NYSAE — where relationships, responsiveness, and tailored support are at the heart of the work.”
In addition to Koenig, a dedicated team from Kellen has moved over to NorthStar, ensuring continuity, institutional knowledge, and a seamless experience for members. Several smaller associations formerly managed by Kellen have also transitioned, reflecting a mutual decision that they would thrive better in a boutique management environment.
Members and partners should expect a smooth and uninterrupted transition. Programs, events, operations, and communications will continue as planned — with the added benefit of NorthStar’s focused approach and entrepreneurial energy.
Metro NYSAE is also delighted to share that long-time member Valerie Cammiso, CAE, has joined the NorthStar team as Senior Vice President, further strengthening the leadership bench supporting the Society.
As Metro NYSAE moves into this new chapter, the organization remains committed to advancing leadership, connection, and collaboration among association professionals throughout the Metro NY region — with NorthStar as a strategic partner positioned to support that mission well into the future.
